Models for Utsurohi, Sculpture by Aiko Miyawaki (1929- )
Description: The models were created for Aiko Miyawaki´s installation for MA-Espace/Temps au Japon exhibition for Festival d´Automne a Paris at Musee des Arts Decoratifs in 1978. The movement of curved wire and rippling surface visualize the the Japanese concept of utsurohi -swift change, or transience. As an internationally established artist, Miyawaki held a numerous shows in Paris, New York and Japan. The sculpture is accompanied by a brochure from Staempfli Gallery, New York where she had her one-man show in 1986.
