Bear Sculptures by Knud Kyhn for Royal Copenhagen
One of the most productive and talented artists of Royal Copenhagen, Knud Kyhn (1880-1969) studied at the Artistic Study School and in the atelier of Karl Schroder in Lillerod. In 1903 he joined Royal Copenhagen where his unique technique and subject centered in animal figures. The bears are rendered with a superior sculptural skill that captures the playful character of the animals, and with matte dark brown glaze that is signature of Kyhn. Royal Copenhagen mark and model number on the bottom. The bears are available individually at $125 each.
