One of a Kind Stainless Steel Pine Tree by Harry Bertoia
An early experimental work by Bertoia, as he investigated the influence of nature on his work. A simple cross base and stem, support a stack of 20 adjustable stainless spray branches, each composed of four carpenters nails with its own array of thin steel wires. Each of the 20 sprouts can be placed or arranged in any direction to fill the space according to the viewers desire. This early work is likely the only one of its type, a significant example of Bertoia´s early sculptural explorations.
