Construction #177 by Leroy Lamis (1925-2010)

Drawing on the Constructivism of Naum Gabo, Antoine Pevsner and Richard Lippold, Leroy Lamis experimented with plastic as early as 1958-59. He soon realized the cube was an ideal form for this new material. The build up of cubes create varying densities of color as the shades overlap each other. The cubic sculpture boasts Lamis´s endeavor for perfection in his execution which leads to the art of contempletion.
