An Incredible Copper Bush Sculpture by Harry Bertoia

Stunning example of Bertoia┬┤s Bush sculpture style in heavily patinated copper. Very unusual execution in this work, with the center stem being a thick copper cylinder which has been curved, giving the overall form a forward tilt. Multiple layers of branches project from the stem, further subdividing into finer branches, each ending in a melted copper "bud". Typically the buds will be of a single size, however this example features graduated sizes, gaining scale from the center split outwards. The split form reavealing the internal structure is very unusual, and offers a great deal of insight into the mammoth efforts to create such a piece. 14" H 18.5" Diameter
