Spectacular Dandelion Sculpture by Harry Bertoia

Bertoia´s Dandelion form is widely regarded to be the apex of his career. An overwhelming physical presence is balanced by its truly delicate nature. A gilt bronze central sphere is the basis of the form, created by succesive application of hundreds of individual gilt wire sprays. Raised on a heavy brass stem, set into a solid slate base. This example was one of 7 Dandelions created for and exhibited by Eastman Kodak at their pavillion at the 1964 New York World´s Fair. Surviving in perfect original condition. 90" H 44" Diameter
