Pallade Floorlamp by Studio Tetrarch for Artemide
1960´s Italy was a fertile region for the development of experimental design. Studio Tetrarch was among the finest design collectives, producing works form the sublime to the truly confusing! This lamp model, manufactured by Artemide was produced as both a hanging adjustable pendant lamp (available separately), as well as the unorthodox floorlamp pictured here. A dark orange acrylic sphere is set with a frosted glass surface, concealing the interior illumination. Owing to its unusual design, the lamp has a loose sandbag inside that allows it to be set in any direction. A great slice of historical futurism.
