1969 Handcrafted Mirror by Frank Flynn
Carved in 1969, as a student project at Rochester Institute of Technology, by Frank Flynn. Done at the dawn of the American studio crafts movement, the mirror displays a strong influence from the work of Wendell Castle. Stack laminated blocks of Honduran Mahogany are hand worked to achieve the smooth surface that organically winds and curves around the mirror. Beautifully balanced, it stands firmly without additional support. 20" H 19" W 8" D.
